Hmingthanpuii Ralte,Jangkhongam Doungel

Show Abstract

Abstract: Vehicle has become one of the primary basic needs of everyone. The automobiles have transformed man with independence and freedom. It enables man to cover within a city and outside too at ease. It has become more vital to cover various places such as shopping centres, workplace and back home, hospitals, schools, colleges etc. Our Indian Government has passed The Motor Vehicles Act in 1988 that covers all road transport vehicles. It covers all traffic rules, procedure for vehicle insurance, registration, role of controlling authority, penalty rules etc. These penalties have been increased as per the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019. These increased penalties are for violation of traffic rules, safeguard to proper road-users, standards for motor vehicles and institution of The Central Consumer Protection Council (CCPA) as well as making liability of the vehicle owners for violation done by minors. The Motor Vehicle Act recognized three types of claims in the incident of motor accident through which one can go for the compensation claim like Hit & Run, Structural Formula basis and Liability based on fault. Hit & Run case is a situation when the accused hits the victim with his vehicle and runs away from the spot of the accident. The act also increased the amount of compensation amount in case of death in Hit & Run cases to Rs.2,00,000/ from Rs.25,000/- and in case of serious injuries the amount increased to Rs.50,000/- from Rs.12,500/- (Section 161). It is no doubt true that the incident of Hit and Run takes place in the state of Mizoram but the Solatium Scheme for compensation of the victim was never implemented in Mizoram, which is to be implemented by the Government of Mizoram. Furthermore, the State Crime Record Bureau does not maintain a separate record to identify the cases of Hit & Run under the Motor Vehicle Act1988. It is clear that there has been a violation of right towards the victim in case of Hit and Run in Mizoram. So, it is an immediate need of the state to implement the scheme to compensate the victim to enable them to access justice without delay as justice denial oppresses the victim

A STUDY ON CONSUMER PERCEPTION TOWARDS ADOPTION OF E-VEHICLE IN SANGLI CITY

Mohammed MeerAhmed M. Ali,Anand A Deshmukh

Show Abstract

Abstract: E-Vehicle is a solution to lot many problems such as pollution, increasing the fuel rates, deaths due to pollution etc. Combustion engine automobiles generate a variety of pollutants. The amount of fugitive emissions from fuel, their source, and other factors such as the type of vehicle and how well it is maintained are all included in the pollutants that come from automobiles. Hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide are the main pollutants produced by gasoline-powered automobiles, whereas oxides of nitrogen and particulates are the main pollutants produced by diesel-powered vehicles. E-Vehicle generates zero pollution, saves money as lesser cost for charging and no fuel needed. EVs offer a practical way to cut overall greenhouse gasses emissions and decarbonize on-road transportation when they are charged with clean electricity. Due to the significant energy and environmental benefits of high vehicle economy, low exhaust emissions, and less reliance on petroleum (electricity production has a wide range of fuel options), vehicle electrification is a game-changer for the transportation industry. In the evolution of the energy system, the electrification of vehicles is a disruptive force that fundamentally alters the roles of many industries, technologies, and fuels in long-term transformation scenarios. There is little doubt that EV charging will have an influence on the power sector in terms of overall energy use, demand profiles, and supply-side synergies. The E-vehicles availability and adoption is a challenge as the cost of E-vehicle and the infrastructure facility available at present in India restricts consumer to adopt it. This paper tries to explore the consumer perception towards E-vehicle purchase decision in Sangli city

SUPERIOR - SUBORDINATE RELATIONSHIP: THE KEY TO EMPLOYEE RETENTION

K Midhun Raj

Show Abstract

Abstract: The superior-subordinate relationship plays a critical role in employee retention and organizational success. Superiors possess formal authority to shape employee behavior through rewards and punishments, directly impacting retention and attrition rates. The quality of the relationship between subordinates and their supervisors significantly influences subordinates' perceptions of the workplace and their level of engagement. A positive relationship fosters strong engagement, while a strained relationship can demotivate employees and prompt them to seek alternative job opportunities. Replacing an employee is not only costly in terms of recruitment expenses and productivity loss during onboarding but also presents a challenge for organizations. Employees who have a satisfactory relationship with their supervisors tend to be more focused and productive. Given the competitiveness of the job market, retaining valuable and talented employees is crucial for organizational success. Therefore, leaders must prioritize establishing and nurturing a positive superior-subordinate relationship as a key strategy for employee retention. This paper reviews the importance of the superior-subordinate relationship and its profound impact on employee retention. It emphasizes that leaders must devote significant attention to cultivating a supportive and collaborative relationship between superiors and subordinates. By doing so, organizations can create a conducive work environment that promotes employee satisfaction, engagement, and productivity. Recognizing the changing dynamics of the workforce, organizations must adapt their approaches to meet the evolving needs and expectations of employees. Ultimately, fostering a positive superior-subordinate relationship becomes a pivotal factor in retaining valuable talent and achieving long-term organizational success

Show Abstract

Abstract: India is one of the fast-growing economies in the world. But still, poverty remains the most prominent challenge to the economy. The MPI (multidimensional poverty index) report of NITI Aayog identified that 25.01% of the Indian population is multidimensionally poor. Agriculture has a significant role in alleviating poverty in India since more than 70% of the population lives in rural areas, and 152 million depend on the primary sector for their livelihood. But still, the agriculture scenario in India is not vibrant. According to the MPI report of NITI Aayog 2021, Bihar, Jharkhand, U.P, M.P, and Meghalaya are the poorest states in India. All these states are well diversified with agricultural resources and have a good share in national agriculture production, yet the poverty rate increases in these states. Over-dependence on traditional farming pushes the farmers deeper into poverty. So it is very imperative to transform traditional agriculture into agribusiness. Agripreneurship is a strategic solution for enhancing the productivity and profitability of the sector. Rural India has wide opportunities in organic farming, agri tourism, value addition, and output processing of agri products. Agripreneurship can uplift rural people and the Indian agriculture sector. The development of Agripreneurship also helps the economy to revive from poverty to a great extent

Abstract: Women entrepreneurs play a crucial role in today's society, and their inclusion in the community is essential for ensuring continued economic growth and social improvement. Despite importance to women in Indian culture, their entrepreneurial potential has been underutilized because of their lesser role in the society. With India's rapidly increasing population, there is a need to develop an adequate environment for entrepreneurship generally and to the empowerment of women by means of entrepreneurship in specific. Throughout this process, it’s important for women to ensure the sustainability of their resources and identify both their strengths and their vulnerabilities. In addition, they attempt to realize their potential. Women are transforming from job searchers to creators as a result of the expanding digital era's chances. They are emerging into the fields of art and decorating, publishing and manufacturing, and are continually looking for more ways to get involved in the economy. Women are achieving remarkable success in many fields, including aviation, engineering, science, medicine, law, education, and the humanities. And if women can excel in these fields while still taking care of their families, then why couldn't run a successful enterprise. Despite having a great deal of natural ability and potential for entrepreneurship, women are often denied access to important resources such as funding, education, and peer support. The paper aims to explore the main challenges faced by women entrepreneurs

Abstract: In a globalized economy, it is an undeniable reality that a country's development is greatly reliant on its own residents' education. Although India has made significant successes in raising literacy; the occurrence of dropouts at every stage of education has retained a blemish on an otherwise admirable record. With this backdrop, it is pertinent to examine the rural and urban gap in the dropout rate as well as the gender variation of dropout in the rural-urban region in India between 2007-08 and 2017-2018. This study utilized secondary data from the NSSO survey 64th and 75th round. The major finding of this research revealed that the overall difference between rural and urban dropout rates has been reduced besides the gender difference between male and female dropouts in the rural and urban areas fell during 2007-08 and 2017-18. Further the results show that there was no statistically significant gender difference in dropout rates between male and female students as well as no significant difference in the rural-urban gap from 2007-08 to 2017-18 as evidenced through independent sample t-test. Thus, the results of this study will inspire policymakers and educational institutions to manage the problem of dropout instantly by improving the quality of education and provide free secondary schooling as the dropout rate is highest at this level among all categories. The government must make sure that the entire necessary infrastructure is in place and give some remedial measures to overcome this issue.

Show Abstract

Abstract: By catering to the requirements of environmentally concerned consumers and offering them the brands and products they like, businesses may gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. However, marketers must comprehend how growing degrees of green brand loyalty influence other aspects that explain customers' proenvironmental behavior. With the growing trends in green marketing, the general tendency of modern consumers to perceive greener products as information exhibits, and the lack of validation for such practices, it is evident that they require further investigation as determinants of green brand loyalty. This study intends to operationalize and validate a conceptual model for assessing green loyalty that integrates environmental concern, perceived environmental knowledge, environmental advertising, and the mediator predictor of green trust. A systematic literature review revealed the indicators (variables) for each concept. We employed structural equation modeling (SEM) to test our hypothesis after administering a structured questionnaire to 412 respondents. It was revealed that environmental concern, perceived environmental knowledge, and environmental advertising significantly affect green trust, increasing brand loyalty for green products. The current research supports the notion that strong positive connections exist between the selected constructs

IMPACT OF BANKING REFORMS ON AVAILABILITY OF INSTITUTIONAL CREDIT: AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS

Parvathy S, Prabhakaran Nair V.R

Show Abstract

Abstract: Banking reforms in India since 1991 were intended to create market-oriented institutional credit driven by profitability and competitiveness. However, rural credit in India under banking reform was characterised by declining agricultural credit and rural indebtedness. The trends in agricultural credit in the post-reform period tend to argue that rather than bringing rural banking closer to the poor, the reforms altogether altered the structure of social banking as it evolved in the pre-reform period. Against this argument, the paper tested the implications of the competitive banking sector under reforms for the availability of institutional credit to agriculture. The analysis rests on the proposition that reforms intended to bring competitiveness and efficiency have led to the neglect of agriculture in bank lending, resulting in farmers depending on informal credit. Burdened with the exploitative interest rates of informal credit, farmers ended up in debt traps and committed suicide. Using the methodology of the Instrumental Variable Approach, we have estimated the relationship between ‘competition’ as a proxy for reforms in the banking sector and the availability of formal credit to agriculture. The study showed that where the banking reforms have brought private and foreign banks in to play a greater role, it has resulted in them not lending to farmers through the institutional credit agencies. The estimation further reveals that reforms have neglected farmers in the lower strata who were not able to get credit on account of their inability to offer collateral to banks for getting loans

IMPACT OF BEHAVIORAL SEGMENTATION ON CUSTOMER SATISFACTION – A CONCEPTUAL REVIEW

Akshata Sakhawalkar, Sagar Pawar

Show Abstract

Abstract: A population can be divided based on its conduct, including how it reacts to, uses, or is aware of a product. Behavioral segmentation is a method of classifying clients according to how they act when making purchases. It aids in the understanding of how various prospects and customers will use their goods, how engaged they will be, and how long they might be customers by product and marketing teams. There is a tone of prospective customers thanks to various behavioral segmentation patterns in India and other countries. Businesses can identify customers with similar buying patterns and behaviors by using behavioral segmentation. It aids businesses in comprehending customer preferences. Customers who are most in line with a company's brand can develop a strong loyalty to it. Consumers often look for a specific set of benefits when purchasing a product. They look for products that, in terms of availability, variety, or cost, satisfy their needs. Some consumers, however, are adamant about getting a solution that will meet their needs and offer them every perk imaginable. Finding out how behavioral segmentation influences customer happiness is the study's main objective

INDIAN LEGAL ECOSYSTEM AND EQUITY CROWDFUNDING

Annjoe J Palathra, Sajeeve V. P

Show Abstract

Abstract: Equity crowdfunding (ECF) for investments is becoming a popular way to raise external funds for small businesses and Startups. As the main financial actors, such as the traditional banking system, stock markets, venture capitalists and angel investors, find it difficult in addressing the funding needs of SMEs and entrepreneurs. We also contend that India has the potential to create an ECF ecosystem to provide financing to entrepreneurial enterprises. The ECF ecosystem's credibility depends on investors' willingness to join, ECF platform setup, and entrepreneurs. To adopt ECF, an economy must be knowledgeable in the ecosystem, have support from communities and regulatory bodies, and also have the government's interest in supporting new initiatives. We investigate India's law and order. Equity crowdfunding legislation in India also synchronises with other legal regulations and permits some exemptions. This would enable start-ups and SMEs to get finance and create scalable employment for Indian youngsters, boosting the economy. It will be advisable to have a tailored legal framework that facilitates ECF as an alternative for entrepreneurs to finance to start their companies through proper awareness and careful differentiation of business needs in India. The report concludes that regulatory harmonisation is crucial to developing a crowdfunding-based business environment

INDIAN UNICORNS: GROWTH, CHALLENGES AND IMPACT ON CORPORATE FINANCE

Show Abstract

Abstract: The term ‘Unicorn’ far from denoting a rare mythical creature, has now become a common jargon in corporate lexicon, referring to technology based private companies with a valuation of $1billion or more. From 2000s’ when the first unicorns were sighted till date there has been tremendous increase in the number of financial unicorns. While some beasts like Alphabet (Google) and Meta (Facebook) grew to become super unicorns with valuations of more than $100 billion many others have been lost in the herd of similar creatures or have plummeted to decay. The major reason attributed to growth and decline of unicorns is the rise in the number of tech savvy, new age entrepreneurs with the ability to attract capital and the rise in the number of paper unicorns with low capital efficiency respectively. Several startups generated humungous capital but depleted them very quickly in search for market share. This has affected their valuations and has caused investors to write down their investments in these companies. India too has its share of successful indigenous unicorns. But the year 2016 witnessed the challenges faced by these unicorns in terms of cash crunch, retrenchment and ultimately reduction in value. These challenges notwithstanding the Indian Unicorns have increased in number and size from the year 2021. In this context, this paper seeks to analyze the reasons for growth of Unicorns, its impact on the investment arena, the challenges faced and possible solutions

PERFORMANCE OF PRODUCTIVE SECTOR PROJECTS UNDER DECENTRALISED PLANNING IN KERALA

Maya P.K, Prabhakaran Nair V.R.

Show Abstract

Abstract: Kerala's consumer economy has expanded to include development in the tertiary sector. Even after twenty-five years of decentralised planning in Kerala, the same holds. Against the above background, the present study attempts to analyse the growth of the productive sector under decentralised planning in Kerala. Performance analysis using completion ratio, spill over ratio, and dropout ratio was employed. It was seen that under decentralised planning, the declining trend of completed projects is a serious concern in the planning process. The spill over ratio has been very high over the years, and the dropout ratio has generally been increasing. Among all three sectors, the productive sector's performance in terms of these ratios shows dismal performance. Even in absolute terms, the number of projects in the productive sector is far lower than in other sectors. The absolute number of projects in the productive sector decided to be implemented under decentralised planning is less compared to the other two sectors. While undertaking productive sector projects, it is beyond doubt that a major share of these projects was either abandoned or carried over to the subsequent years of planning. The industrial sector projects in the productive sector also have high spill over and dropout `ratios. This analysis identified that the production sector is neglected under the decentralised planning system in Kerala. One may argue that there can be many problems associated with the implementation of these projects, as is evident from the fact that spill over and dropout ratios are increasing in the case of projects in the productive sector

K. Bhuvaneswari, G.Kanimozhi, V.Shanmuganeethi

Show Abstract

Abstract: Predicting student’s learning difficulties and student’s performance is a significant research area. Because it can help teachers stop students from quitting before end-of-semester exams, predicting students' learning challenges and performance is an important research subject. The goal of this study is to forecast the learning challenges that students will face in current and upcoming courses. Some kids with learning difficulties could have trouble paying attention in class, reading, writing, or doing math. Universities are increasingly predicting student success using machine learning and big data analytics. Based on cognitive and academic data, researchers have categorized students and forecasted their future outcomes using cutting-edge statistical approaches and machine learning algorithms. In addition to classification tasks, machine learning algorithms like SVM (Support Vector Machine) can be used to forecast learning problems. It can be used to anticipate learning issues, which was done in this study to anticipate the difficulties that particular students would face. Students' learning challenges can also be predicted using the VARK analysis. These results suggest that the SVM algorithm can be an effective tool for identifying students' learning issues. However, the data's quality, feature choices, and applied settings all affect how accurate the performance is. Hence, before making any forecasts, the data must be thoroughly gathered, pre-processed, and analyzed. In order to improve student learning, academic instructors can take proactive steps by using prediction of student academic results to gain a better idea of how actively or poorly students fared in their classes. In order to predict students' final academic performance, this study used undergraduate computer science students for categorization using the SVM method and prediction using linear regression. Some of the key causes of learning difficulties were discovered

Jasbir Kaur

Show Abstract

Abstract: When it comes to urban traffic and different complex situations on the road, it is observed that these situations occur due to huge increase in the number of vehicles, fixed time signals and unruly vehicle drivers. Besides it there is a requirement of making special arrangements for priority vehicles and parked vehicles on the road without disturbing the usual traffic. There are some initiatives taken up currently by the traffic authorities, but still the different systems developed for handling different complex traffic situations do not work in unison. In this paper the design and development of a Priority Vehicle Management System (PVMS) is proposed to handle lifesaving emergency services or urgency-based services. PVMS is an automatic intelligent real time system which detects the presence of an emergency vehicle at the traffic signal and provides immediate access to the priority vehicle such as an ambulance, fire brigade, the police van, and the VIP (very important person) vehicle. The proposed solution is based on multistage decision-making approach where events occurring at different stages are unknown, but probabilities of occurrence of events are known. For practical implementation a shortrange RFID (Radio frequency Identification System) system is used. Priority algorithm and mission critical option table are used for decision making if more than one priority vehicle is detected. The proposed work is complete in all the respects for all the traffic situations
